Long Distance Relationship Advice
It can be very easy for people to give advice especially for long distance relationship advice. And for the people involved in the relationship, like me it can be hard to follow the advice. I can only recall all
the warnings when John decided to go out of town for work and I had to remain. We thought we could work it out and we were very determined to. However the distance was taking its toll on us, on the relationship.
We kept in constant contact through IM,skype and emails. Despite the best of our efforts, we grew apart without even realizing it. We tried to visit one another whenever the work schedule allowed us. I thought we followed all long distance relationship advice to the T but it seemed futile. We agreed to take time out with one another. It was not an easy decision but it was a necessary one. It was getting painful to carry on.
We stopped all contact and tried to get on our lives without one another, after an 8-year old relationship. I did not know which was harder- struggling with a tired relationship or without him at all. It seemed that no long distance relationship advice can come to my help. Slowly I became numb to the pain of separation. I rebuilt my life slowly and surely. Then one day I received a long distance call from him. He was coming back for the weekend and asked if we could meet. I was uncertain especially after what I had gone through to get myself back on track. Nonetheless, I agreed.
When we met, it was an unexpected jolt as if no time had passed at all. We knew we had to give it more shot. But this time, we told ourselves not to try too hard. While we followed long distance relationship advice, we still had doubts about making it work. Faith is the most important factor to make things work as any long distance relationship advice will reiterate. Have faith not just in one another but in the strength of the relationship. When we stepped back and gave ourselves more room, it was a different effect altogether. We overlooked the very basic of long distance relationship advice- having faith to survive the distance.
