2013-07-05 Lenehan, Chow lead Amateur The Chronicle Herald

These are four-round events and they have never been won on the first day, said Chow, the 2009 Nova Scotia mid-amateur champ. Unfortunately theres probably a mediocre, bad round for everyone out there and its just a matter of hoping that round isnt too high. If I can play that way and mitigate a big round, I should be there at the end.

Damage control on his third hole paid off in the end for Stuart Lenehan during Wednesdays opening round of the Nova Scotia MCT Insurance amateur golf championship at Northumberland Links.

2013-05-28 Letters: Letters Opinion Winnipeg Sun

I just returned from visiting my native province of Nova Scotia. I was shocked at the way the province has gone economically down hill, with few jobs and a huge provincial debt load. Even with the federal government handing the province a huge ship-building contract, things are not turning around on the job front. The blame lies squarely with the NDP Dexter government, which like the NDP government of Manitoba, has run up huge debts, while saddling the province with some of the highest taxes in Canada. Nova Scotia voted in the NDP for change, but have found socialism simply is unaffordable. It is impossible to have a strong economy while perpetuating the welfare state, as both Nova Scotia and Manitoba are learning.

2013-05-26 Tourism plan targets growth The Chronicle Herald

The number of visitors to Nova Scotia has dropped by nine per cent over the past 10 years. That compares to a decline nationally of 18 per cent over the same period, the result of stiff competition globally for tourist dollars in an increasingly digital world.

I think its the first time weve publicly gone out there with numbers so thats a positive thing, Patrick Sullivan, CEO of the newly formed Nova Scotia Tourism Agency, said in an interview from White Point Beach Lodge.

2013-05-24 The lonesome beauty of Nova Scotias Eastern Shore

Shoal Bay in Tangier is the home of Coastal Adventures, a small family business that rents kayaks, specializes in guided tours and is also a bed and breakfast. The owner, Scott Cunningham, has kayaked his way around Nova Scotia and has written a book about his adventures. Kayaking is no doubt the best way to explore this rugged shoreline and its beauty. Book a day trip or one of the longer ones with a guide, or take off on your own. We paddle for a whole day without encountering a trace of civilization, swim and eat our picnic on a small island with white sand. A bald eagle circles high above and we see huge colonies of loons, cormorants and blue herons. When we later come by a noisy group of seals hauled out on some rocks, were reminded of a trip to the Galapagos, but without the cruise ships and hordes of tourists. Apart from
