Miami (FL) Baseball Conditioning Coach Involved in PED?s Scandal

MiamiDisappoinmentSmallA scathing report about a major Performance Enhancement Drug investigation in the state of Florida came out on Tuesday from The Miami NewTimes which includes many connections to the University of Miami baseball program. This isn?t the first time that the Hurricanes baseball program has had issues with performance enhancement drugs as Frankie Ratcliff was arrested in the fall 2009 for having 101 grams of marijuana and 19 vials of HGH on him. In the report, Miami (FL) Strength and Conditioning Coach Jimmy Goins is implicated in the scandal. Goins has been serving as a strength and conditioning coach for the Miami baseball and track and field teams for the last nine years.

Goins isn?t the only one connected with the University of Miami baseball program to be involved with this scandal as star catcher Yasmani Grandal and Cesar Carrillo are also mentioned as members of the PED ring. Interesting enough, Grandal was suspended 50 games by MLB this offseason after testing positive for Testosterone.
