Ms. Graham ? Newsletter 2/6/2012

Preschool Newsletter

February 6, 2012

Afternoon Fridays:? The afternoon will start to have Friday classes on February 10, 2012.? On Fridays we do yoga and nutrition activities.

Report Cards:? Report cards were given out on February 1, 2012.? If you have any questions regarding your child?s report card feel free to make an appointment for a conference with Ms. Graham.

Valentines Day: The preschool students can bring in Valentines if they want.? We ask that the preschoolers write their name (or the closest thing to their name) on twenty Valentines. DO NOT WRITE the names of the children in the classroom on the cards, it is too hard to ensure that the cards get into the correct mailboxes.

Preschool Fundraiser: Ray Preschool will be holding a fundraising event ?We LOVE the Arts? on Thursday February 9 from 6p-7:30p.?The fundraiser will help us enrich our preschool program by providing music, materials and other special events throughout the school year.? Enjoy an evening of food, art, and a silent auction full of great deals just before Valentine?s Day!? Food will be available for purchase before the event; pre-sale tickets can be purchased from your classroom teacher.? Food tickets are $7, and drinks and desserts are $1. We will also be selling some of your child?s framed artwork.

We will need your help in order to make this event a success! We will need dessert and drink donations for the day of the event. In addition, if you are available the day of the event to help with set up, clean up, food sales, or ticket sales.? Thank you in advance for all your help.

Wish List: We are running critically low on napkins.? If you would like to donate some napkins it would be greatly appreciated.

Birthdays and Half Birthdays:? If you would like to celebrate your child?s winter break birthday or summer birthday please see Ms. Graham to set up a date to celebrate.? We try and celebrate summer birthdays on the half birthday.

Outside:? Please dress your child for the cold, snowy weather.? This includes hats, gloves, snowsuits and boots.?? We will go outside everyday for a half hour unless it is raining or below 25 degrees with the wind chill.? Please assist us by putting wet boots directly in front of your child?s cubby.

?

Another great week in preschool has passed. This week the preschool students began their study of animals.? As a class we are all studying bears.? Then in small groups, they are choosing another animal to study.? Half of the groups have chosen.? It is amazing to see how the preschoolers come up with the animals that they are interested in studying.? Everyday, the preschoolers are learning new and interesting facts about bears!? We have numerous book available to the students to look at and they continuously run over to the teachers to share the new facts they have learned!? This upcoming week we will continue to learn more about bears and our small group selected animals.

?

Have a great week,

Ms. Graham and Ms. Maggie
